So last week I got told I had MIBC, and today I was told it’s T2 G3 I been told I need 3 rounds of chemotherapy and then surgery to remove my bladder which is a big op but if it’s to give me my life back that’s what I need to do. Has anyone been given the same as me and been through the surgery?
Hi ClaireN21. I was a bit further along than you with T3/G3. I had 3 cycles of chemo and then given the option of bladder removal or chemoradiation. I chose the latter and so far still have a normal bladder nearly 8 years later. Maybe an option you may like to explore. Others here have had removal and am sure will be along to help with their experiences. Best wishes.
I was quite lucky not to have too many complications. My bowel stopped working but this is a common complication. That made me very sick so they put in a nasal gastric tube.I made myself walk up and down the ward holding onto the bars as I was very weak & wobbly.I found the recovery hard mentally as it was during the lockdown and I was on my own at home.I did get depressed but people on here really helped with support and encouragement.I’m pleased to have got through it all and back to gardening and other interests.Love Jane x
