Thank you :Blush Do I need to set up a new thread to ask questions? I wanted to ask people the recovery time after a TURBT - trying to get organised round taking time off work....

  • I was extremely anxious & would be in tears if my stomach area was touched after the TURBT. Now, 2 weeks later, I am Physically recovered, although mentally I am a mess. I think the emotional state depends on the prognosis & mine is pretty bad.

Gosh sorry to hear that - yes it is confronting isn't it and suddenly appears in our lives like a meteor. I'm taking it all a day at a time and trying not to think too far ahead. I hope you have support around you

My surgeon always operates on a Friday and I take a week off work (plus the 2 weekends either side so it's 9 days at home) before I am comfortable being away from home for a long time and not near my own toilet. Around the 2 week mark I tend to have  a bit of bleeding as scabs come off so need to be near a toilet when than happens. I have an office-based job with no physical labour. If i did physical work I think I would take 2 weeks. My doctor did recommend 2 weeks off and offered me a 2 week 'sick note'.
