Andrew,
Swollen ankles are a known effect of Gemcitabine. Make sure the nurses are aware of this. You should have a contact number, so call and let them know.Gentle exercise and keeping the feet raised are recommended. It is not uncommon for treatment to be delayed when side effects cause problems.
Hi Doreen here.Cant find how to start a discussion about this so replying instead. I am due to start Gemcitabine this month and I am worried about the side effects as I would be having it every week for three weeks then a week off over a six month period. My son is due to have a major back op in July and I want to be able to support him.At the moment I am well and dread being made ill again as the last lot of chemo put me in hospital for ten days then gave me badly blistered hands and feet so I stopped that treatment. This is what I am now being offered. My sister died two weeks ago after months of problems with water retention so you can understand my concerns
Hi doreenmargaret,
The New Discussion button only appears when you actually join a group, as you have only joined the ovarian group so far you won't see one for this Bladder group until you join :-)
Hope this helps, G n' J
