Anyone have advice, never thought I'd be asking this, but, my brother lives in Australia...but...he's bringing his family to France next year with the view that I can join them.  Never travelled abroad in my life... anyone with any help travelling with cancer would be gratefully appreciated, be only for a few days.

  • Oh do go and meet them! Simple things - make sure you have an up to date passport and check (gov.uk) any necessary regulations in force well in advance, just in case you need any extra paperwork. Apply for a GHIC card - gives emergency state provided healthcare in EU. Best to take out insurance and declare cancer - plenty of previous posts about that.

Check with your consultant that they are happy for you to travel, particularly if flying. Take a copy of your last clinic report with you. Most of all, enjoy the experience!

  • Thank you...!!!  Wonderful encouragement...!!!
