I have had Bladder Cancer since 2920 diagnosed 2021 -
Had 5 rigid cystoscopy procedures - After the second after being told I was getting BCG Consultant said how did I feel about a bladder removal op - declined and he was not pleased anyway MDT decided I could gave BCG and had three lots -- My cancer went from high to low grade But reverted back..
I was told I was going on a TULA every so often - First one Ok pick and smooth. Second was looking not great, I was told inflamation - third showed the low CIS alive and well. The tumor is very low and not easy.
So I had my TURBT The plan was get as much with TURBY and any akward tumor would be removed by TULA, ablated. That is due within a month.
So things when Igo home after TURBT did not go well, I went into retention and was senr to PRESTO A&E to have a catheter installed. - After the pain the painlessflow of urine to catheter was heaven. All the pain gone.
So after TWOC I had catheter gone. What followed has been not good URGENCY even if nothing to pass - frequency 4 times an hour at one stage,.
district Nurre came and am being fitted for a condom catheter, Better that the black or white incontinence pants - I can't see how a condom catheter can deal with Urgency and maybe frequency. I am told better than indwelling because of UTi s .
So back to now - Dose having a couple of small bottles of beer and 2 whisky's affect either urg Wife and I always had two nights reserved for a drin,maybe a go on PS2 and finish with DVD - Work wife does for me, she deserves that., Anyone is this OK with Bladder Cancer.

Hi ern007 . Sorry to hear what you have been through with all the discomfort. Alcohol has always been a bit of a grey area. Some people give up altogether while others enjoy the odd drink. I asked my consultant about this and was told a few beers should not do any harm but try and avoid the gassy mass produced stuff and try real ale. When I was going through treatment, a pint was a welcome relief after a day in the chemo chair. Everyone's treatment is different though, so always best to check with the medics. Best wishes.
