Well as I'd heard nothing I emailed the CNS team for info on what's happening.
Had a call today from one of them to discuss it with me and go over the results on the phone.
So I'm clear at present the biopsies taken were benign. And they are downgrading me to 6 monthly camera checks as well.
So next check up in 6 months, so that a big relief really, it seems the Epirubicin did what it was supposed to at least for now anyway.
So let's hope I keep getting the all clear, I'm also pragmatic and a realist so I don't expect for one minute that is the end of it but hoping it is, but I've been around here long enough to know it will always be hanging over me from now on. And there is always the chance of it coming back at any time.
But I'll take the win for now and hopefully for a very long time to come.
So yeah, feels kind of strange saying that tbh, can't really put it into words how I'm feeling really,
Hi Simon. That all sounds very positive. So pleased for you and this gives hope for others. Enjoy the moment. Best wishes going forward.
Hi Simon
I know what you are saying, although the BCG so far (12 months) seems to be working. I'm aware that it can recur again ( had 2 before the BCG) and have managed to cultivate a neutral attitude. So much so that I can tell the cytoscopy nurse is a bit non-plussed that I don't seem elated when it's clear. However although if it wasn't clear I would of course be a bit disappointed but genuinely would think - good you found it and what do we do next. Sure is better than the rabbit hole I went down at the beginning in Jan 2024. We all have to live the best lives we can in the meantime, none of us knows what fate holds for us. So many of my close circle has or or is in remission from various cancers, that being mindful but neutral is a good strategy IMO.
Hi Simon C25, I would definitely take those results as a win too. So delighted for you xx You are right we never know whether we will experience a reoccurrence, I had 4 myself during my BCG treatment. But hey one step at a time, 3 months at a time, 6 months at a time and now annually I present myself for a flexi cystoscopy with my fingers and toes crossed. So far I'm into my fifth all clear year... alleluia! Wishing you health and happiness. Love Hx
Yeah indeed one day at a time as always. So here's hoping it stays clear for a long long time.
