Hiya people hope you are all well, can i ask how long people have waited for pathology results after Turbit as i have been waiting just over 3 weeks amd not heard anything, the surgeon afterwards did say could take up to 4 weeks, and he also said he got all the papillary bladder lession and was hopeful that the mitromycin after the op would be all i need, but would really be nice to get some results
Thanks
Hi Forncett . I know how frustrating the waiting can be. The results are usually ready in about 10 days, but the waiting depends on the availability of the doctors. 3 weeks seems to be about the norm now, but we are seeing longer and longer waiting times, Try giving the consultant's secretary a ring if you can get the number to give them a nudge. I hope all turns out good for you. Best wishes.
I'd second rily's advice. The consultant's secretaries can be really helpful. At least being given an appointment date for your feedback would help. I would just add that on my experience the surgeon's are frequently spot on about what they see in the TURBT, so if he has given you such positive feedback I'd relax if I were you. Keep us posted? Love Hx
Thankyou so very much you guys have been such a great support for me and im so greatful x
You are most welcome. We've all been at the stage you are, and it's hugely stressful waiting for results. Nonetheless many of us are still here, enjoying our lives, years after starting where you are now, so fingers crossed for you. Hx
Results for all tests these days seem to take longer than they once did, whether for CTs, MRI, pathology etc. It's mainly manpower shortages - people need to read and report on the results before we can get them.
Many hospitals have to outsource the reviewing (mine does, then sometimes checks with their own staff who are more familiar with urological cancer, to make sure, before issuing them).
So please don't just think the results may be worse just because they are taking a while.
All the best,

The only real answer is how long is a piece of string.
So many variables.
I'm overdue an admission for a rigid cystoscopy after my last chemo treatmemt should have been 4 to 6 weeks and now we are at 9 weeks.
Then it will pribably be another 3 to 4 weeks for my results after that whenever they get me in.
I have been trying to chase them up about it but hard to get in contact with anyone with useful information at our hospital lately.
