Hi all,
It has been nearly 2 years since my diagnosis and I have been through 2 TURBTs, 3 additional biopsies and 15 BCG treatments.
I am now way too familiar with catheters.
I have drastically increased the number of people who have closely inspected my "gentleman area".
There have been quite a few low points and periods of intense worry, fear and frustration.
Finally got the all-clear and notification that I no longer need BCG treatments, just a check-up every 6 months.
For anyone reading this in the early stage after diagnosis - hang in there. Really.
Thanks! Cheering to hear. Though it is all a bit pot luck I gather! Had 2 recurrences removed and they were aggressive. Last cystoscopy clear. About to start my first BCG maintenance course on Monday A rollercoaster with uncertain outcome for sure.. but nice to hear of a good one.
Hi Dadageddon . Really good news. We love posts like this that give hope to those in early stages. Best wishes going forward.
Hi Dadageddon, great news that you've got an all-clear result and reduced to 6 monthly check ups. I believe most hospitals now recommend 15 doses rather than the 27 doses which was my treatment. After I'd finished it took a really long time for the inside of my bladder to calm down from the inflammation caused by BCG, so less doses are obviously better. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will remain cancer-free into a long and healthy future. Love Hx
