Having recently been away for a few days and the restrictions on baggage sizes I would be interested to know what people do with their overnight urine bag when they can’t take what they use at home and don’t rely on a coat hanger and tape and a bed side drawer. Is there something out there that folds that I could buy ?
Just a suggestion: If your case is stable and your bag hanger can be securely hung on to it, that might work. If the tube to your bag is long enough, can you just place a suitable carrier bag or plastic sheet on the floor for your bag? Folding stands, in my experience, are too light to be stable. One larger movement and the whole thing topples and then pulls!!
I read somewhere that you fasten a supermarket bag for life type bag to the mattress to hang down at the side of the bed with a couple of nappy pins then slide your usual night bag into that.
I also read a cautionary tale of a woman who just laid the night bag on the floor underneath the bed then when it filled up couldn't get it out the next morning because it had ballooned as it filled.
I use a folding stand and once it fills it stabilises. The problem in all cases is that the pipe from the bag I now use is only about 4 feet long. I was also given a plastic thing that goes between the mattress and base to hang the night bag on which is kept in place by the mattress's weight. Haven't found a bed where I could use it yet.
I also read that those like us can ask for an extra luggage allowance when flying.
All the best,
Larestart
Thank you for your reply, we have a set up with a coat hanger and supermarket bag in the drawer of the bedside table however this hotel had a bed side table with no drawers , asked relatives for various tapes to stick the bag to the table it did work but there must be something out there ……we just haven’t found it yet , I won’t give up just yet……I will keep you posted
Hi MPB2f4f92
I travel abroad often, and bring my nightstand, which is plastic and folds up, in my case. It costs around £12 to buy online. It’s very light and fits well in my case. Typically I pack light for every holiday, so don’t take a large case, and my total weight is normally around 10-12 kilos overall. The nightstand is very light.
When I’m away, I sit the stand on a waterproof puppy pad on the floor-I pack several of these for my trip, which is normally 10 days at a time. I’ve never had an issue in any of my multiple trips.
