Hello All

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had a turbt on May 10th this year. Pathology revealed a nmibc  2 cm G2pta.

No chemo post op.

Ever since the procedure I have experienced pain / discomfort on urination. This varies in intensity but its always there.

I had a UTI 4 days post op,  cleared up fine with antibiotics.

12 weeks post op I had another urinalysis due to UTI symptoms with blood +++ and leucocytes +++ on dipstick.

Urine culture was negative but there were very high leucocytes. No treatment given.

I had my 3 month cystoscopy which was clear.

My next one will be in 12 months.

But there are still blood and leucocytes on a urine dipstick along with the pain.

I spoke to the cancer nurses who didn't seem too perturbed.

I know its probably still healing, but it doesn't seem to be improving.

  • Hi  and welcome to the group although sorry to hear you are still having post op discomfort. In general it usually takes about six weeks for a TURBT wound to heal bit obviously there are exceptions. Have you been allocated a CNS (Clinical/Cancer Nurse Specialist) who are normally the best people to talk to with concerns ? Ln the meantime, are you drinking plenty of water to keep things flushed out? Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.
