Good evening all,
I’ve been trying to get back to running for all sorts of reasons, the main one is I love it… I’ve been following the couch to 5k ( walk / run ) app.
ive been getting as far as running for two minutes then having to walk…ect ect…
I want to go further but the fear of bleeding has been holding me back..( the last time I ran for anything over 5 minutes on a treadmill) I had a bleed a couple of days later…which sent me into panic mode…after tests it was just “one of those things” but mentally I’ve been in fear of it happening again….
Until tonight…me and Mrs Nigel were at the gym, I had planned to do a 40 minute walk…after a minute I thought “sod this” and sped it up a bit to a nice jog.
i managed to jog non stop for 30 minutes…I loved it sooooooo much…I felt a million dollars….
If I do bleed within the next week or so I’m not going to panic…
I want to go for another run…
love to you all
Nigel
p.s can you tell I’m happy xxxxxx
Wow Nigel what a marvellous moment. One thing about cancer it does teach you to treasure simple things like the glorious feeling of using your body and achieving a return to health. Well done you and Mrs N, sounds like great team work. Hx
Cheers H, yes Mrs Nigel is my rock…im sitting here planning my next run….theres a big hill with my name on it….ive been wanting to push myself for ages…I won’t overdo it but I know what I can achieve… so happy.
