Hello had procedure today found two small tumors said thought might be invasive have to wait now for results out patient appointment after mdt meeting spoke about radiotherapy / chemotherapy also radical treatment. Dont want to loose my bladder iam totally devastated . Phil.
Hi Phil, so sorry you've had such scary news. Of course you need to get the biopsy results for a clear picture of what comes next, and unfortunately this generally takes about two weeks. This is a tough moment in the cancer journey, no one can reassure you until the results are clear. Speaking for myself, when the surgeon told me it was a large tumour I thought I'd be dead in six months. That was 8 years ago and I still have my bladder. I understand how hard this is but try to take one step at a time. For the next fortnight be very kind to yourself, any treat, any activity, any escapism you fancy go for it. Sending love Hx
Hi thank you for reaching out to me iam glad i joined this forum its been such a huge help so nice to conect with people who have gone through the same journey. PHIL X
Hi Phil, my heart goes out to you. It is such a scary thought to have to lose your bladder. After my first TURBT I was told that I would probably only need 6 Mitomycin instillations then when the Pathology results came back they were agressive Grade 3 cancers although non-invasive. Radical cystectomy was discussed with me but I've opted for the BCG route. Anyway what I'm trying to say is that it is the Pathology results which are decisive so don't jump the gun, wait for those results and in the meantime be kind to yourself.
Sending positive vibes to you ️
Love Ade xx
Hi Ade thank you for reaching out to me. Iam normally a positive person but getting diagnosed with cancer has wiped me out. My lovely wife of 44 yrs has had various operations and treatment's for head & neck cancer over the last 5yrs is doing her best to support me. Once again thanks to all on this forum Phil x
HI Ritic
I can only echo what the other members have said. It is a,worrying wait , but once the results are back a pathway will be developed. The first first wait I had was for a ct scan results. I kept reminding myself while I was waiting that at least I was now moving forward.
All the various options will be discussed with you once the results are clear.
We are all here with you .
Best wishes
Mark
Good morning Phil. Yes it is a frightening time when you hear the words tumours and cancer. I was diagnosed with a tumour in 2018. See my profile for details about my treatment and outcomes. I am reasonably fit and well for a 75 year old man, play golf 5 days a week and generally enjoy life. There are myriad fellow travellers who have been on the journey you are about to start who have survived and are well. When you see an Oncologist no doubt you will be given choices regarding your treatment. Once a plan is devised life does get easier. I hope all goes well for you. Garviv
