1 year on from frank hematuria and what followed.

Can't quite believe it's been a year since I had my frank hematuria which prompted a doctor's appointment, then the following cystoscopy, confirmation of a tumour and then cystoscopy to resect it and then the constant surveillance since.

So yeah just can't believe where the time has gone already.

What made me realise it's just over a year was a text from my surgery requesting me to book a monitoring blood test.

Only options available over next few weeks are Mondays 0937 to 0945 so difficult for me working nights Sunday to Thursday every week, so I'll have to ring the house of care line to organise a better time and date for me.

It's quite unbelievable it's been a year since I felt like my whole world was falling apart and not knowing what was going to happen.

Just thought I'd share.

  • Hi Si,

Its just incredible how fast it goes. I am 2years on 6th April and I , like you ,keep thinking wow ! When first told I felt like everything was going in a kind of slow motion nightmare and how was i going to get through it or would I even get through it. I now have learned so much about life and what is really important to me . cherish the things that bring me joy and avoid the stuff that really upsets me ( not watching the news , so sick of seeing the man baby on my screen) Mostly I cherish the people I love and have rekindled some friendships because it is important , and let go of ones that arent. It has been some ride hasnt it ? Take care of yourself and thanks for posting x

    Much love Angela x

  • Does being overweight with a pretty knackered body (knees back etc)and rapidly heading for the big 50 count as keeping well or not?
