I wanted to post an update as there were so many lovely helpful replies to my initial post of anxiety and concern. Following six BCG instillations I had a rigid cystoscopy. I was told there was no recurrence of the tumour and no areas of concern. I was elated to hear that. Am I worrying unnecessarily in the fact that no biopsies were taken? When I queried this with a specialist nurse, she said it was because there were no areas of concern. The report says there was ‘some congested mucosa with punctuate bleeding’ - nurse was not sure what that was so I have arranged an appointment with consultant to discuss. I have now started maintenance BCG. A flexible cystoscopy booked for May.
Being clear is wonderful news try not to worry about what isn't there or hasn't been done. If it need to be done they will do it. As it is the main thing is no recurrence so take solace in that.
Best of luck moving forwards.
