I wanted to post an update as there were so many lovely helpful replies to my initial post of anxiety and concern. Following six BCG instillations I had a rigid cystoscopy. I was told there was no recurrence of the tumour and no areas of concern. I was elated to hear that. Am I worrying unnecessarily in the fact that no biopsies were taken? When I queried this with a specialist nurse, she said it was because there were no areas of concern. The report says there was ‘some congested mucosa with punctuate bleeding’ - nurse was not sure what that was so I have arranged an appointment with consultant to discuss. I have now started maintenance BCG. A flexible cystoscopy booked for May.
Hi Jessie15 . That's wonderful news. So pleased for you. I have had a few rigid cystoscopies over the years where no biopsies were taken because nothing new was seen. Not uncommon. Wishing you well going forward.
