Night Sweats

Hi Quarry,It sounds like you could still have an infection somewhere.Was it a urinary infection they gave you antibiotics for ? Tell your nurse/team as night sweats can be a sign of an underlying problem.Best wishes Jane x

Hi Jane , yes UTI . Rang the ward just and they advised paracetamol with the antibiotics and monitor. Temperature is ok and  no other problems.x

I’m glad you have spoken to someone.Yes monitor yourself closely.If you continue with the sweats you might need more antibiotics or different ones.Did they advise doing a repeat urine sample ? That would probably be a good idea.I’m glad you feel ok though,take care.Jane x

Hi Quarry, I was told I could drop off a urine sample to my GP's any weekday morning and they will test for infection. If I was getting on-going night sweats that's definitely what I would do. If you are now feeling ok, temperature isn't raised, and you still have some antibiotics I'd carry on taking whole course, and paracetamol as your hospital advised but if not stopped once course is complete then definitely get another test for UTI. Also it's always a good idea to drink plenty to flush out the system. I drink lemon barley water which I have always found soothing. Best wishes Hx
