I have been told that my dentist will not do any treatments while I am going through chemotherapy has anyone else been told this
Hi Forestranger,
When I was booked in for chemo I was told to get my teeth checked before I started, I have a very supportive dentist and when I went to see her a couple of days before chemo started she told me not to worry, if I had any problems at all with my teeth to ring them and they would book me in after surgery had closed to make sure I had less chance of picking anything up from other patients, while my immune system was so low. I also cleaned my teeth as vigorously as before chemo and I was lucky not to suffer with bleeding gums.
Annie x
Thankyou for your message I shall give him a call and see if I can sort something out as I’ve have just had 6 sessions of chemo, I’ve now got six weeks off then back in for three weeks so hopefully he can see me before next March when I go back for my checkup
