Morning Everyone, well it’s Friday again. Our son, wife and grandchildren are on holiday in Turkey and their dog sitter is poorly so guess what? We are dog minding for 10 nights. We went for “walkies”at 6.00 am this morning. The rain was heavy and the wind blowing at 50-60 mph. It is collection day today so you can imagine bins, paper and rubbish everywhere. I have towelled the dog dry and put the kettle on. The sun is now shining, blue sky but still very strong winds. Our daughter, husband and grandchildren are flying to Majorca today. We have to take their dog to the kennel later. No children or grandchildren for 10 days. Golf later which should be interesting in this wind. Tonight Lemon, Chilli Chicken with chilled tomato, red onion and fresh coriander salad. Naan and several glasses of something Be careful out there today and stay safe. Enjoy the weekend. Garviv
Sounds like a perfect evening, wet and windy in the South East, take care on that golf course, have a great Bank Holiday.
Hi Garviv,Have a good weekend.Windy and overcast here but no rain yet.I hope the dog minding goes well.I’ll be on cat feeding duties for a week at the start of September.I’m looking after my next door neighbours cat who loves to fight every cat in the area ! Love Jane xx
Yum! Your Friday night meals always sound so delicious Garviv. Wish you were cooking for me. I've decided that at 77, after a lifetime feeding a family, I've grown out of cooking, but I do join you in raising a glass or two on Friday nights. Since BC I don't drink much, most days I'm diligently knocking back the lemon barley, but it's all the more fun to indulge on Friday nights. In my memories (mid1960's....me aged 16 years) I hear Cathy McGowan's voice saying "Ready Steady Go...the weekend starts here!" It still prompts a small thrill! Enjoy the BH weekend everyone. Hx
Hi Garviv, how wonderful to have the dogs for 10 days . I hope they behave for you.
I am waiting for my invite to your restaurant, the food sounds delicious. Is it an open invitation hahaha ?
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend, lets hope this weather gets better
Much love Angela x
Thanks H. Yes Friday and Saturday are our nights. We don’t drink alcohol or over indulgence during the week. Curry tonight and maybe a BBQ tomorrow after the game with Mrs G’s sister and hubby ( weather permitting) . Cathy McGown wow I can see and hear Manfred Mann, Hollies, Walker Brothers et al now. Enjoy the weekend. Garviv
Thanks Garviv, I fear Mr Halofan would dominate the evening after a beer, with his many anecdotes and detailed knowledge of bands that open people from remote icelandic islands have heard of haha. I am resting today, looking forward to the game tomorrow , 1st homegame of the season is always a thrill, especially having gundogan back. Good luck to PNE
Much love Angela x
Hello Angela, Sigur Ros from Iceland: Ágætis byrjun I used to listen to this CD non stop driving from Walton Le Dale to Manchester back in the day. Subsequently downloaded most of their music. Haunting, ethereal. Enjoy your rest today and the match tomorrow. Have you ever watched on YouTube a guy called Primemutton he films food and drink videos including Man City games home, away in Europe. Worth a look.Garviv
