How long do i have to live? That was the question my partner asked of the professor on friday... if you don't have the treatment 6 months, if you do could be 12 - 18 months, but some of my patients have lived longer.

How  do we prepare ourselves going forward from this. I know we have to be strong, and the old adage - get your affairs in order, but

with 47 years under our belt, should we be looking back at old photographs, when do we tell the close family, at which stage will the chemo make recovery worse. As you can see we are in a fog. Cancer is in your lymph and spreading up your back.

when will i have the strength to read your replies, that i need right now? Love and light yavapi xxx

  • Hello Yavapi, so sad reading your message today. I do hope you can get some relief. There will be plenty of sound and compassionate advice on this site. You can also contact MacMillan direct re your chemo questions. My circumstances were different to yours but I told my children and close friends immediately. You will need their support as you continue on your journey. We didn’t tell our grandchildren they were far too young five years ago. Garviv

  • Hello Yavapi

My heart goes out to you and your partner. Such sad news. I told all my family and friends of my diagnosis, not that I have been given the same outcome as you, but I have been astounded at the amount of support I have been given by all those people who love me and I think they have felt good in being able to give the support.

I hope you are both able to find comfort in those you love and who love you.

Sending you love and hugs, Ade xx
