I start week 4 tomorrow, cannot wait it has been a long 3 weeks so far but the people I have met waiting to go in, have been lovely, you end up a wee community and when someone completes their treatment it's brilliant to see them walking away hopefully forever, I was a wee bit apprehensive starting treatment but it's been great plus the Radiographers are excellent. My one problem was getting covid last Thursday so not sure if side effects are from treatment or covid. So I go into tomorrow with a spring in my step and a smile on my face, if anyone who knows me would say its a physical impossibility for me to have a spring in my step, and a smile as I'm a well known grump. Maybe get back to seeing some bands again and get some fishing in.

Cheers

Scott

  • Hi Scott. Good to know things are going well. The tiredness does creep up on you towards the end but should pass. I know what you mean about the community spirit. You see many of the same people every day. In my unit there was a tea bar in the waiting area so I always had a tea and toasted tea cake and a chat while waiting. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Scott.

Glad to hear your treatment is going well and that the staff and people you've met have been fantastic.

Sorry to hear you got COVID though, but sounds like your coping really well.

Keep that spring in your step and that smile and hope you get some bands and fishing in soon.

Best of luck with the remaining treatment and keep well.

  • Not sure what it is about tea and something toasted but it speaks of NHS tenderness and care to me. xx
