To answer my own question YES. My two small dogs have been super attentive since I got ill, do you find that also?
Mine are Border Terriers. Have you got dog love helping you also?
Hi Leo1
I definitely think that our pets know when we are unwell and like to take care of us. Your border terriers sound lovely.

Hi Leo1, I have 2 Cockapoos and at times they are a pain in the….. ankle but my 4yr old knew I was ill before I did.! He stopped laying across my lap of an evening to sleep, so I guessed it was something serious.
but they have given me a reason to get up when I couldn’t be bothered each day, and out and about each day.
he sniffs me each day to sense how I’m doing and my Consultant/ surgeon told me to keep him close, he’ll be my best friend through this journey.
I couldn’t be without them mentally or physically now.

I got my dog two years after my diagnosis, when I felt I would survive. He's the last in a long line of labradors I have loved. Hero was the dog before, she was my perfect girl. Gentle, kind, really well behaved. Can't say the same for this over excited boy, even at 5 when he ought to know better. He definitely worries about me if he thinks I'm unwell or unhappy. Unfortunately he shows his concern by poking me anxiously with his paw, or running round me in nervous circles. Nonetheless he's my nutcase and he makes my heart sing. Hx
My cocker spaniel Babs will not leave my side. Always been clingy but just howls now if she is separated from me. Ava the Labrador knows something is up but isn't being so pushy.
Although I have a wonderful partner , my dogs are an huge source of comfort to me.
