I had my 1st TURBT on 16th December, MDT last week, G3PT1 with no signs of cancer in the muscle samples removed in 1st TURBT. Consultant says 2nd TURBT in 6 weeks from now to take additional biopsies do rule our MINC, and take a look around. Is that too long do you think , it would be 9 weeks from 1st TURBT. Admittedly 1st TURBT was a bigger job than thought, with 5CM area removed, so may take longer to heal. Any advice gratefully? Consultant said not to worry about this timeframe but just checking.
Hi Leo1,I expect you will be relieved to get the next TURBT done. The waiting around in between TURBT’s is not easy.People do tend to feel better once treatment starts.I don’t drink anymore.I stopped when I had neurological problems as it made them much worse.I don’t miss it,I was never a heavy drinker.Best wishes Jane
Hi Leo1 , It will be a nervous time waiting for your 2nd turbt, be good to get it over and done then you can get on with treatment.
I remember when they told me I was having a 2nd turbt , I didnt know it was standard practice in my area and said “why ? did you not get it all out ?” I am chuckling recalling the look on the consultants face as I said it, and then of course he said its to confirm the grading. I felt such a numpty.
I will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way.
