Bladder cancer and thyroid function

Hello AKA and welcome to the group although sorry to hear you may have thyroid problems. I can't recall anyone mentioning a connection with BCG. I have done a search in the group and cannot find any posts regarding this. Hopefully if anyone has any experience may be along to help. Best wishes.

Hi AKA, I had a cyst in my thyroid which required surgery many years prior to my bladder cancer diagnosis. It left me with half a thyroid and requiring daily levothyroxine tablets. I had 27 BCG doses over three and a half years but this did not change my thyroid function which is reviewed annually. I haven't heard of this problem before. Have you been able to discuss your side effects with your CNS or Consultant?
