I am heading through for my 1st Turbt this afternoon. Feeling OK, a little anxious, but I think that's more to do with the weather here today in Scotland. Gale force winds and heavy rain. It takes about an hour to drive there, so think we'll have to set off early. I'll be staying in overnight, so will update how I get on when it's all over. Much love to you all xx
Sending best wishes Jane. I've had 6 TURBTs and none have been painful or problematic. The first one is of course a bit scary and I also stayed in overnight after that. The Urology ward at my local hospital is marvellous and although I woke up with a catheter which is nobody's idea of fun, it was removed pretty quickly the next day. Hope your journey to hospital goes smoothly and look forward to hearing that the procedure has also been straight forward. Rily is absolutely right about the tea and toast after the op.....a real joy! Sending love. Hx
Thanks guys. I am certainly looking forward to my tea and toast ha ha xx
Just an update. My 1st turbt surgery went well. Bit sore yesterday, but feeling much better today. You guys were right, it was not problematic and the general anaesthetic wasn't scary at all. I really did enjoy my tea and toast afterwards. I had a one off mitomycin treatment through my catheter and into the bladder after surgery. It felt like I was peeing cut glass yesterday, but I just kept drinking water and Ifeel fine today. Almost back to normal. My daughter is here bossing me about lol
Great to hear it went smoothly Jane, and welcome to the dedicated drinkers club. We've all learned to flush out our bladders as a habit. One of our group members recommended lemon barley as a bladder soother and that's my regular tipple these days. I'm guessing you'll have an appointment to be given results of the biopsy in about two or three weeks? Keep us posted. xx
I will try the lemon barley. Good tip Thank you It can get a bit boring drinking water all day, but I must say. It really does help a lot.
Thanks guys. Lots of love to you all. Stay well xx
