Has anyone here suffered a vaginal prolapse after cystectomy/hysterectomy
Hi Harrington . Sorry, I am no help with your question, but just giving your post a bump hoping someone can help. Best wishes.
There are such things as vaginal prolapses, certainly after hysterectomy. I rapidly refused a hysterectomy for my severe fibroids 15 years ago after a little research revealed that once some bits of insides are removed, it can be like taking out the lower blocks of Jenga or the old-fashioned shop window/aunt sally pyramid of tins - the rest crashes down. And a prolapse results. Such problems are more likely if you have a history of hypermobility by the way
[As it wasn't cancer I had a choice, uterine arterial embolisation which worked like a dream for me.]
Hi Harrington, as Denby says hysterectomy can cause vaginal prolapse as it has for me. Mine isn't a major problem it pushes slightly into my rectum. I am aware of it but it has never needed any treatment.
