This has maybe been spoken about before, I just haven’t been able to find it. I’m self employed, currently running a Ltd company on my own. Since Christmas I’ve been on a lot of painkillers that cloud my concentration etc, and I’ve found it difficult to work. I’m wondering if we are eligible for certain benefits with bladder cancer? I don’t go out as trying to figure out toilets that aren’t too far from each other is a nightmare, and this is obviously affecting my daily living, so that would be ticked off a checklist of eligibility. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi LiRoss . When I was off work, I was entitled to ESA, but I was employed rather than self employed. Could I suggest you call the free Mac support line on 0808 808 0000 (8-8pm). They have benefits advisors on hand who will be able to help with anything you may be entitled to Best wishes.
Hi LiRoss, have a look at the homepage of
benefitsandwork.co.uk
There is a free PIP [Personal Independence Payment, not means tested] eligibility self test there. If you think you could be eligible for PIP [must have had problems 3 months and expect them to last at least another 9 months] it is very very worthwhile to subscribe for access to the Members' Guides and Forum. That is moderated by trained volunteers who answer your questions, although the site does not provide a personal service of doing applications for you. There's also advice on UC and some other benefits.
Let us know how you get on?
