Hi all, I am on here on behalf of my grandmother, who battled against bladder cancer 9 years ago and won. SInce then though, she has had a stoma bag, but she is now at an age where she can no longer take care of it herself - she is 87 years old, and is suffering from dimensia and Alzheimers. Does anyone know where we can look for help for her?
HI,
This is a difficult situation for you -- there should be a number of possible options --
1. Your local GP should be able to advise where specialist Stoma help is available.
2. The company who supply the bags will almost certainly have Stoma Nurses available for advice,
3.Stoma Nurses will be based at your nearest Main Hospital -
I t seems to be a question these days that "If you don't ask, you dont get"! - don't be afraid to ask !
