Hi,
Had my first TURBT almost 3 weeks ago.
Feeling pretty good, just trying to get bladder re trained after two weeks of catheter!
Received date for meeting with consultant for 4 weeks from now 28th June. Assume I will find out the stage etc at this meeting.
Is this pretty normal? Is a long time more likely to mean things are not so bad than if they get you back quicker?
Or is this me over thinking it?
Thanks all.
Tomsk
Hi Tomsk. You can never read anything in to the timing of appointments. It is usually down to availability of consultants. The biopsies are processed in about 10 - 15 days. 4-6 weeks used to be fairly average, but they are still catching up from the pandemic and there seems to be a backlog in many places. Waiting times seem to be one of the more popular topics here and right across the board. We know how anxious it can be, but if you have a firm date, that takes a bit of pressure off. Best wishes.
I had my turbt and had phone call to meet urologist 3 weeks after ..I was diagnosed with cis bladder cancer and needed to start bcg treatments..I have my 15th treatment next week then they say no more unless reoccurrence..so far all my cystoscopys have been clear thankfully.. not very pleasant but I'm coping OK..hope all goes well for you x
