Between 2 groups. bladder and liver Mr W all clear for 6 years of bladder cancer
However a very small patch of cancer has been found in his ureter Unfortunately it is in the left side where kidney function is 80% the right side due to previous kidney stones is.20% so surgery not an option
The cancer has been removed but we have been told it will come back and will eventually get out of the ureter and metastasise How long this will take is unknown Consultant suggests monitoring and using laser to remove any recurrence for as long as that is viable
So it's not all as bad as we first thought but not fantastic news
Wondering if anyone else has had similar I know Pudsy posted both here and on kidnry forum.
Wilbert
Hi Wilbert and Mr W, I can see surgery could be a more satisfactory option, as we all hope removed cancers will mean a definite all clear. But as we know from this site nothing can be counted on for ever. If the ureter is regularly monitored and reoccurrences lazered, it'll just be a question of living from one screening to the next, which tbh what I feel I am doing. In the meantime for today Mr w is clear, so definitely cause for a celebration. I'm raising my Friday night glass to his good health. Sending love H x
