Scan result waiting times

Hi Jane. I was pre covid for most of my scans and then had regular face to face appointments which took about 3 weeks. We know things have changed lately. Saying that, I had my annual CT a couple of months ago and received results by letter after 2 weeks. I hope all is well when you get yours. Best wishes.

Thanks rily,I meant to ask how long the results would be likely to take.They are being sent to the health centre as it was the nurse who fast tracked the scan.Hoping the results will shed some light on why I feel ill.Best wishes Jane

Hi Jane. We know it takes about 10 days to analyse and process the scans. It is usually the admin side of things that cause the delays. Might be worth giving the surgery a ring to see if they have your results. Best wishes.

Mr W Been for a kidney scsm today and told results in about 7 to10  days 

I'd give your gp a ring they seem to get the results electronically We went to see gp as I was very stressed  about red patch biopsy some time ago and he brought the report up on his computer He had had it 2 days !! We got the actual letter 6 days later !!

I dont think the medical profession realise how stressful it is waiting for results

Usually 10 days, it can be earlier if it's an emergency, but 10 is the norm. In my case, they take a little longer as I'm post treatment and  not a "priority."
