Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with a brused/sharpe pain in urethra after catheter removal?
I've had many second TURBT catheter removed 23rd April, it was the same the first time, but I caught a infection,it seems to be just before the opening in between penis head and shaft,
peeing is panful but thats to be expected, but this is feeling like there something is in there its hard to explain,
i feel it more when i sit down and at night when you get the old night time arousal then that stings .
sometimes the pain is like a nerve pain all i can say is it feels like a toothache pain?
has anyone had this with catheter removal/?
Hello Macca,, yes I know exactly what you mean. I recently went through weekly Ialuril instillations for 8 weeks and I always felt that bruised feeling afterwards. It is hard to describe, I'm not sure it's actually down to the catheter because I can still get that same feeling now. I can only think it has to do with the nerve endings which after all take a battering with all the invasiveness of TURBT's and instillations. Keep us all posted.
Hi Macca
I've been experiencing similar to you. Had a catheter in for 5 weeks following complications a TURBT (blood clot and ended up back in hospital). Catheter was removed on the 19th. I've been having some sharp pains which do seem to be getting fewer and further between. Seem to be feeling ok and then get a pain out of nowhere. Sitting down seems to make it worse as you say. When needing a pee I have been having to go more urgently and feeling some pressure at the start but not that painful once going.
Hi All, so went to doctors today, he has given me antibiotics, all he has said it's sounds like a infection in the uthera, couldn't give me any idea about nerve pain?
So 7daya if antibiotics, I'll let yiu know how it goes
Glad in a way that I'm not the only one who gas had these symptoms.
Keep trooping boys
Hello Macca, my problems relate solely to BCG after effects but get the same symptoms as you have described. I have what you describe as prickly pain. I have also had a lot of burning pain. You just cannot explain where and when it might suddenly hit you. As an example during the night at 2.00 I got out of bed to have a pee, it was painful holding it but once I passed it I had an after prickly pain from there on until I got up. Strangely enough it didn't prevent me from sleeping. I take pain killers but it doesn't appear to do much. I get told by the clinic it will eventually go on its own but I have been suffering for months now in one form or another. Do keep us posted on how the antibiotics do.
