After e mailing the health centre yesterday I got a call back with an appointment.I’m seeing one of the nurse practitioners tomorrow.Something doesn’t feel right at all where my bladder used to be.I’m hoping it is an issue that can be sorted and not a sign of cancer recurrence.I have so much to do in the house. My sister is coming over on Sunday. She thought it would be nice to be together on the anniversary of dad’s death. It’s a sunny day here, enjoy the nice weather if you have it.Love to you all Jane xx

  • Hi Jane, have said a quick prayer for you that it's not a cancer recurrence. But so worrying for you till you know, and an awful time to be living with pain when you have so much to do practically and John can't help physically, your sister works and you are still in fresh grief.

Glorious sun here too, downside must water flowers in pots later and little energy due to covid. This too will pass!

    Hugs,

  • Hi Denby,I’m so sorry to hear about Covid.Sending hugs and healing thoughts to you both.I just had a good catch up with lovely neighbours 3 doors away.I’m wondering if I have a fistula.Whatever it is it’s not comfortable Sorting through papers, have filled a huge bag for recycling tomorrow.Take care Love Jane xx

  • I’m looking to see if any of you can give me information regarding the delay in treatment owing to a back log.

I have had two TURBTs followed by a six week BCG treatment, a cystoscopy followed by a three week BCG treatment, another cystoscopy followed by a three week BCG treatment.

I am now due to have another cystoscopy but there is a long waiting list of months rather than years.

Any advice or information regarding the impact of delay in treatments?

All my treatment to date has been in target. I have considered the private route but the waiting time there is several weeks.

    I’m trying to stay calm.

  •  Hi Kiko,It’s worth asking if you can be notified about cancellations made by other patients. It worked for me in the past.I suppose it will depend on how easy it is for you to get to the hospital at short notice/Covid situation. There is certainly a back log at my local hospital.I was due a urology phone call in November and I’m still waiting though apparently I’m in the system. The waiting is never easy.Do you have a specialist cancer nurse ? Best wishes Jane

  • Hi Jane

Yes, I do have a specialist cancer nurse who is very good at keeping an eye on things.

I have already said that I would be prepared to take a cancellation at short notice.

I’m within easy access of the hospital.

    Thanjs for your advice,

  • . Hi Lesley. I have always let them know I am available for cancellations and once got a call to ask if I could get there within the hour, and I did. Who are you talking to? I always call the flexible cystoscopy waiting list office. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Rily

I’m talking to my specialist cancer nurse and my consultant’s secretary.

I would take a cancellation at the drop of a hat and they know that. Fingers crossed tone2

  • It’s good to hear you have a supportive nurse.Fingers crossed that a cancellation comes up and you can get seen sooner.Best wishes Jane x

  • Hi Kiko, both of my last two flexi's have been delayed. The one I had in November was two months late and I have one booked for Saturday which is over a month late. Both have been booked for Saturdays as my hospital is desperately trying to catch up with delayed procedures. I think most hospitals have similar struggles at the moment. If you wait longer than two months late before being offered a date I'd chase through your CNS pointing out that it is delaying your BCG maintenance doses, but I don't think gaps of a few months are too much of a worry.

  • Thank you Herothedog for that encouraging news.

I was getting concerned in case the time line of 3 months between BCG treatments was vital.

I will do my best to pursue my next cystoscopy date but feel less anxious since I received your message. Thumbsup
