Hi,
Went for my 6 monthly scan yesterday. After having a quick chat with my CSN I decided to have my bloods done first on the same day to save travelling. Arrived an hour plus early and it took almost an hour before the bloods were drawn. Didn't seem a lot people waiting, but unfortunately it was a slow day and these things happen.
Checked in for my scan, only to find out that I'd come on the wrong day! My mistake, no arguement! Now what followed was marvellous. The receptionist was very kind and helpful and got me in the same day. No condemnation etc, just courtesy and a lot of understanding. The technician and radiographer were the same and yes, I had to wait a bit, but everything was all done and dusted.
Results in a couple of weeks, but I can't say enough about the service I received. Brilliant NHS.
Hi Ianw. It is good when they do things like this. I had a similar experience. Went for a CT scan. I also had an MRI booked for a few days later. When they saw this they said no point in two visits, so they did my MRI straight after the CT to save me coming back. Good luck with your results. Best wishes.
I absolutely love our NHS. When i recieved my first pay packet, as an apprentice, someone explained to me what my nat, ins, contributions were. I was over the moon. I couldn't take in the full scale of how wonderful a thing it was. I was so so proud to live in a country where people paid in to a health service regardless of the state of their own health.
All my life i've paid in, as have many others, gladly.
It is a wonderful concept and a wonderful gift we give to ourselves. For me it shines so brightly and so strong.
I do feel it will go eventually though. I sincerely hope not. I hope that future generations will enjoy the security of a fully working NHS, free at the point of contact, as i have all my life...so far.
Thanks. And sorry to take over a bit in my reply Ian. It's great that they calmly, without fuss, slotted you in. Result.
