Hello all
Not been about much recently as I find it easier to cope if I try to forget about bc as much as possible so apologies but I am back as my anxiety is increasing again recently and people here are so sensible and knowledgeable that I always feel better with the kind replies I have had in the past.
I was diagnosed in June last year and felt fortunate, post TURBT, to be confirmed pTa G1 Low risk. I was also clear at my first 3 mth check. I have just had my appointment through for my next flexible cystoscopy in late June, 1 year from TURBT and 9 mths from the first post TURBT check. I don’t know why, perhaps getting the date for the next check made it all seem real again, but since receiving that appointment, my anxiety has been slowly increasing. I worry it has already come back (I get this weird thing where sometimes before going to bed I want to pee again and again, every minute or so but there is very little voided. It only happens occasionally and only in the evening). I don’t have other symptoms and dont know whether I am just being a bit neurotic.
I didnt have symptoms last year and was only diagnosed by chance due to a scan I had for other investigations so I think I worry a lot that as I didnt know it was there last time, how will I know if it returns. Don’t know if this makes sense.
Hope you are all doing ok.
Blue.
Hi Blue,It is usually cheaper to buy online. As long as the strips test for nitrates (indicative of bacteria) leukocytes and blood as these are the most likely to show up in infection/inflammation.Love Jane x
Thanks Jane.
I was curious to know if anyone here using them is doing so on the advice/recommendation of their doctor/consultant or specialist nurse - or on their own initiative?
Best, Blue
Hi Blue,I used them before I had cancer as I was always getting infections.I cared for my mother for many years and the strips were handy to test her urine. She had a couple of bad infections which made her delirious, not uncommon in the elderly.Love Jane x
Good afternoon Bluebeard 21, how are you today? We all feel a degree of anxiety with the various procedures we go through and I got to thinking that your flexi cystoscopy is going to show (a) that you are clear or (b) you have a recurrence. If it’s (a) you’ll say thank goodness for that . If it’s (b) you’ll possibly go back to TURBT and you know all about that. I take the view that if I can change anything I will but I’ll rely on the medics rather than worry . Best wishes, John.
Hi John thanks for that which is no doubt wise advice.
Best, Blue
