I am awaiting an operation for Urinary Diversion and then treatment for non muscle invasive bladder cancer.
I have quite severe episodic bleeding from the tumours .
Has anyone experienced this and is there anything that can be taken to help prevent this ?
Hi Eddie and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you are in some discomfort with the bleeding. Some mild bleeding can be expected after any procedure, but severe or continuous bleeds are not so common. Always worth while giving your medics a call for advice. In the meantime, drink loads of water to flush things out and to help prevent clots forming. Best wishes.
Hi Eddie,
My husband had one episode of bleeding pre diagnosis which prompted him to see his GP and then on the morning of his first TURBT he had a severe episode of bleeding. Fortunately he was in the hospital being booked in and they took him straight to surgery. I think you should contact your consultant to let them know rather than leave it especially as you feel it is severe. If you ask to speak to the consultant's secretary and leave a message explaining the problem, the doctor should call you back.
Best Wishes.
