Hi All

well I had my op on the 16th December recovery is going well few ups and down days but overall okay. Now the wait for the results I’m getting a bit paranoid they find cancer in the lymph nodes has anyone been through this? And if so what are the next steps?

  • . Hi Claire. Good to know your recovery is going well. We know that waiting for results is always an anxious time and the not knowing plays havoc with our thoughts. Without results being in it is hard to say what is next, but usually some tests and scans follow. I've not had the big op, so hopefully someone who has gone that way will be along to help. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • My surgeon was kind enough to say immediately post op that there was no sign of spread - but obviously they have to wait for path report for official results. In my case it was around 2 weeks later that came through, but still needed ratification by MDT. If there is any sign  of cancer in lymph nodes, they would probably recommend chemo & be vigilant with appropriate frequency & type of tests to monitor.

Try to just focus on recovering from the surgery - hope all goes well.

  • Hello ClaireN21

As with Teasswill, my surgeon said I was clear the day after my op. However like you I was nervous waiting for the results. I hate waiting for results. I have my bi-annual MRI tomorrow and I still hate waiting for my results.

I hope you get your results soon
