Hello,
can someone please help. My partners on his 3rd session of a 6 weeks chemotherapy course. He is having mitomycin (I think that’s how you spell it). He was due his 4th course today but the hospital have phoned to cancel his appointment due to not having that specific drug in stock. We are in complete despair as they said at the beginning he shouldn’t miss a session and now they are saying it’s fine to miss one (I feel like this isn’t true as they wouldn’t of told him to begin with to not miss a session). Has this happened to anyone else before? We do not want this missed session to hinder his chances of beating this.
many thanks!!
Hi Tigerlilly22, how frustrating when he is in the middle of a course, but I have heard of folk who for other reasons delayed a session, and in the scheme of things the medics don't seem anxious. Your partner will still get the same number of doses I imagine? Have they told you when he can have his next appointment? It's so hard not to feel constantly anxious during treatment so sending you love and cyber hugs. Hx
Thank you, we’ve done a bit of research and it does say that in the case of an infection they delay the treatment for a week so I’m hoping it’ll be okay. They’ve just told him they had run out of the drug they use and hopefully his appointment next week should go ahead! It’s a very anxious time so having this appointment cancelled hasn’t helped at all! X
My husband had an inconsistent series of mitomycin as his bladder shot it straight back out the first time and he never managed to keep it in the whole official time. But it has still worked effectively.
It may be worth reviewing your diet and beverages and other things like electromagnetic frequency radiation and chemicals in your lives [such as household and personal care sprays] to ensure the optimum healthy situation. Organic food and drink is the way to avoid consuming pesticides and weed-killer [which is in most bread, cakes, pasta etc]. Hopefully this will give you some real sense of something to control in a good way along with the hospital doing their stuff.....

Thank you! Yeah he’s really changed his lifestyle, only drinking filtered water, organic food and smoothies!
