Stoma bag suppliers & prices

Hi Coojee,Unless it’s different in Scotland you don’t have to pay for your supplies.The stoma nurses inform the dr of what you will need.You order from the suppliers who then contact the dr’s to agree to it.

Is there maybe a range of higher quality equipment which are not covered bythe NHS? There seems to be several private companies offering quite large ranges.

There are lots of different ranges offered by different companies, and these companies supply the nhs. In terms I f the usual stoma supplies, the most important consideration is what particular bag suits your needs. It isn’t the case that there are higher quality supplies not covered by the nhs.

You don’t pay for stoma supplies which is why you won’t be seeing prices on supply company websites. Salts is one company as you have found and they supply bags via the nhs.
