Op cancelled

Hi Waffledog. In the great scheme of things a few weeks doe not make a great difference. The waiting does increase the anxiety. I am due for a non cancer procedure later this month. I can understand your reluctance to go in owing to covid, but the sooner  you get it done the better. My hospital has set up a new urology dept. away from the main hospital which is reassuring. Sending you best wishes Waffledog. The waiting game is awful, made worse by the current situation, but keep the faith with the NHS. They will pull out all stops to keep general hospital environments virus free. As Rily says delays of a few weeks don't seem to worry consultants so I think we have to take their word for it. Try to relax and take one day at a time. xxx

The waiting is hard but they won’t put you through an anaesthetic if you really aren’t well enough.I remember turning up for a pre- op assessment and having the op cancelled by the anaesthetist as he was concerned about my heart.I had the TURBT not long afterwards when things had settled.Get well soon.Love Jane x
