Hi all hope you’re all ok.
Im waiting for TURBT. Recently discovered tumor in bladder.
I have real bad lower back and kidney pain and also had 7 uti infections in 2 years.
Been told that the uti infections have nothing to do with the cancer
but I find that hard to believe.Had to phone GP today who gave me yet another antibiotic as pain was too much he said could be urine infection again.
im still in shock with news and feel really poorly going into the TURBT.
Any info would be appreciated.
Best wishes to all
Hi Waffledog,I really feel for you,I was plagued by uti’s before my tumour was removed. It is miserable.I don’t know whether you have tried altering your diet ? I found cutting out tomatoes, onions and citrus fruits/juices helped with bladder pain.I don’t eat spicy food but that can irritate a sore bladder. Are the doctors sending your urine tests off for testing each time? Some of the hospital acquired urine infections can be caused by rarer bacteria.I picked up one just before surgery and it took 3 lots of different antibiotics to shift it.Do you have your Turbt date yet ? I hope the new antibiotics help.Best wishes Jane x
Hi Jane
Thanks for reply. I’m still waiting for date for TURBT . They haven’t been good with contact really.
ive just took a bucket load of painkillers with the antibiotic and it seems to be easing the pain.
Not thought about diet as I’ve not been eating well due to feeling sick but will look more into that side.
I’ve felt so ill for 2 years and don’t think they realise I’m not a fit and well person.
So I am really worried.
Hows things with you ? Hope you’re recovering well and hopefully feeling better.
Thanks for reply
best wishes
Hi Waffledog. I had similar severe back pains prior to my first TURBT. All pain went after the op. Make sure you take your anti Bs. They won't operate if you have an infection. In the meantime, make sure you keep drinking lots of water to keep thing flushed out. Best wishes.
