My dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer in jan.had radiotherapy which was successful for a few months..after having to fight with the oncologist for a ct scan as I noticed changes in him we have just found out it has spread to the other kidney lymph nodes and chest..he has took the news amazingly however I am really struggling
Hi Magm, really sorry to hear about your dad's spread. It is really tough when someone you love gets ill. I think it may be harder for our families than for us the patients. You don't say your dad's age, but I know when I turned 70 I felt that every extra year would be a bonus. I knew I had enjoyed my life, raised a wonderful daughter and had no regrets. With a cancer diagnosis I learned to live one day at a time and not to waste too much time feeling fearful. I hope your dad will get lots of support from his nursing team, maybe there will be other treatments which can slow the progression. Sending you love Hx
thankyou herothedog he is 76 and today he said he just realised how serious this is..he sais he knows he looks unwell where he hadnt noticed before such a shame..his gp is amazing but i feel he would benefit from chatting to an expert so ile have a chat over the next few days with him about it xx
