Hi, I hope it is ok to post on here even though I have not been diagnosed. I am a 39 year old female and have had bloody discharge like clots (TMI sorry) in my urine along with tissue looking bits on days with no blood when I pee. This has been happening on and off over last 8 weeks or so, sometimes when I wipe there is a little fresh blood on tissue. My period has not came in few months though not unusual for me (I am not pregnant) I delayed ringing doctors thinking this was due to it. Anyhow this was happening nearly every time I went to toilet last couple weeks so I rang doctors give a sample which had the strange clot thing in it. She said there is no UTI but referred me to urology. Urology called to tell me I go in on Monday morning for a camera test (I am very nervous about this) no one has mentioned the C word to me and I feel ok other than this no pain or fever or anything and urine has been clear yesterday and today from what I can see. My question is how does bleeding from bladder cancer present itself is it pure blood or something like I have been having? And does my symptoms sound like something else? Sorry for the long post and sorry if I offend anyone by asking on here it is not my intention. I just feel worried and don’t know what to think. Thanks in advance.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community. Don't worry about offending anyone here, we've all asked questions about bodily functions at one point or another.
None of the members here are medically trained so we can't offer a definitive answer but normally blood in urine can be an indication of a bladder or kidney problem. It could even indicate a womb problem. You did the right thing and contacted your GP quickly. Your camera test will be the first step towards determining what the problem is so try not to panic and think the "C" word.
Come back after your test on Monday you might have a clearer picture then and we can suggest which would be the best group to join to get support.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.
To find more information covering diagnosis and treatments there are pages covering most types of cancers which can be found on our Online Information and Support Section.

Hi and welcome to the group. No need for any apologies, we know how worrying things can be. Bladder cancer can present in different ways but blood in pee is the most common sign. Saying that, blood can be caused by other things and not always cancer. The camera (flexible cystoscopy) will show up anything wrong. It is a painless procedure, but sometimes slightly uncomfortable. Takes five minutes or so. You will be able to see on screen what the doctor sees and anything abnormal will be pointed out to you. Please feel free to ask any questions. Best wishes.
Hi Tia 321, you never need to worry about sharing details about symptoms with us, everyone in this group is well used to discussions about bodily secretions and all things urology. Sorry to hear you are having such a scary experience, but the flexible cystoscopy is nothing to fear as Rily has said. I have one every 3 months, it's painless and it is amazing to get a look inside one's own bladder Your symptoms could be many things but it's great that you are getting a proper screening as soon as possible. Let us know how things go on Monday? Sending love x
