Well guys was all geared up ready for my Op on 18th August and it been cancelled till 25 August, they said due to Covid but none of hospital near me at nottingham reporting an increase, so this seems strange? Has this happened to anyone else,?
Thanks Amelia x
Oh Amelia. What a bummer, after gearing yourself up. These delays are not uncommon. Even before covid last minute cancellations were common. They just like to keep us on our toes. At least they have given you a reviewed date. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Hi Amelia, it's probably the 'pingdemic'. Ops depend on all sorts of backroom stuff like the folk who sterilise and prepare instrument packs for ops. So it's not necessarily that loads of patients are being taken in to hospital sick with Covid.
Hoping one more week will not make a lot of odds

Hi amelia. How disappointing for you. I was unwell a week before my TURBT and they nearly rescheduled it, I was devastated! (Thankfully it went ahead as planned).
Like others have said its not unusual and maybe if its a big hospital they are under more pressure at the moment.
Do you have a COVID free hospital near you? I'm not far from Nottingham (I'm on the border of notts, leics and lincs) and I have moved my care from lincoln to a smaller hospital which is a 'green site'. It's worth asking?
Sending love.

Hi Claire, my local hospital is Kings Mill in Mansfield but they dont do this operation there so it done in Notts City Hospital, just hope it goes ahead on 25th, if not I think some questions need to be asked xxx
Hi Amelia
They are still both big hospitals but notts city is definitely smaller than Kings Mill
If you're that side of notts you're probably too far away for Grantham hospital, that's where my care has been moved to.
I've had some complications since the TURBT so driving the 43 miles to Lincoln was difficult as I can't hold my bladder for more than 45 minutes, I would have made it there not been able to walk from the car for fear of wetting myself! Ha ha
Makes sense for me too as only 7 miles from Grantham hospital
Good luck with it
Sending love
