The tumors (2 of them) were T1 G3. All papillary, very early, although aggressive (G3). But the consultant thinks it's all gone and has not gone anywhere, so now only prevention of reoccurrence therapy: loads of BCG treatments and 3-monthly cystoscopies... For a few years .. But the consultant thinks I will eventually get rid of it!!!
I am on the moon. I know: the therapy might not work. It may come back anyway. But it is under control and now, I celebrate!
Thanks to all of you for your kind words! Many of you told me that this is a curable cancer. This notion helped me a lot during my tense wait. And it turned out to be true!
I will keep you posted on my treatment progress.
Love you all!
Marco
Great news I have just had my cystoscopy after 6 bcg treatments and all was clear I was so happy with the result .. I know I've got a long journey but I feel so much more positive than I did at the start of my diagnosis.. so glad you feel so much more positive and better in yourself x take care best wishes Tina
Great to hear your consultant being so positive, BCG treatment is a long journey but I have found it very manageable. I started in 2018 and expect to have my final dose, number 27, next Wednesday. Over these years between doses and 3 monthly screenings I have been able to enjoy a good quality of life, including a dream holiday to Sri Lanka and a new puppy. Look after yourself and definitely celebrate. xxx
