Hi everyone
after a flexible cystoscopy where surgeon found a ‘dark raised area’ I was recommended to have a rigid cystoscopy, within two weeks. I’m petrified of what the ‘dark raised area’ is an to add to that the rigid cystoscopy is now planned for July 28th. That will be three weeks after the flexible cystoscopy.
Anybody offer any thoughts on the above?
Thanks
Hi fdka77,It is hard to say what the raised area may be until it’s properly examined. Some reddened areas can be due to inflammation. Some hospitals are still behind with appointments due to Covid,it varies throughout the country.Have you had a rigid cystoscopy before ? Best wishes Jane
Are you on BCG? I had that after my induction course and had a rigid to remove it.
I am currently waiting for a TURBT as, after my last maintenance doses, the raised patch is larger.
If you haven't had a rigid before then they are not too much of a problem. As they don't do much deep digging then there is very little pain afterwards, nothing like a TURBT. I've had 5 rigids so far in two and a half years and just take them in my stride.
