Hi Rab. Sorry I can't help, but just saying nice to hear from you. Good to to know you are doing well after all this time, albeit with a few current worries. I hope you get some answers. Best wishes.
Hi Rily thank you very much for responding to my post thats 5 years past in april i had my ops but i am sure you are like me every day is a school day getting to visit my GP would be easier finding lord lucan stoma team at hospital are still not seing any one phone call from my GP she said i am not clued up with stoma and urostomy but we all fight on every day and i would like to encourage any one having issues to keep strong as the battle is not over till it is over please people never give up Rab
Hi Rab, I am no stoma expert but I do know that they have to use a length of your gut to construct the diversion to the stoma. The gut wall tissue is programmed to make mucus to lubricate the passage of food/poo. It carries on doing this when it has been transplanted away from it's original duties, and it does sound as though this is what you have. I believe the flushing routine you would have is designed to keep this washed out so it does not build up. Suggest you try MacMillan nurse phone line for more info as you say, easier to find Lord Lucan than a GP, nice one!

Hi Rab. I am a couple of years further on than you, but even though I went a different route, we know it is a never ending story, even though all is well at the moment. Trying to see a GP is harder than an appointment with the Queen, but there again, GPs are not great with bladder cancer issues. Stay strong mate, and I hope you get sorted. This beast keeps sending us challenges, but we overcome them. Best wishes.
