My dad is currently having weekly BCG treatment he is 80 so would be in the category to have the vaccine.
We are trying to establish whether he can have the vaccine whilst having BCG treatment? The urology nurse today said they are not sure either way at the moment (our hospital is not administering it yet)
Has anyone’s else been advised either way?
Hello . . There have been lots of discussions and debates about this, but so far I don't think anyone has come up with the answer. It is so new and we have not heard any definite news about it yet. We know people on BCG should not have the flu jab within weeks of treatment and people are comparing the two, but the flu vaccine is a live virus, whereas the new Covid vaccine is not, so can't compare. If your dad gets the vaccine, we would love to know. Best wishes.
