One week on from TURBT, done some washing, stripped bed, been shopping. So I've done far better than I usually do. Just one setback when I got our of bed to have my first weee, well it was probably the smallest weee in the world, I got very bad achy bladder & blood pressure went very low, took paracetamol & asked for morphine, I got codeine, which worked. Nurse then took me to the toilet at full speed in a wheelchair, I could hardly say slow down could I? . The Uro even gave me antibiotics ready for my UTI, took them right away as he instructed, & so far so good. Nurse said to ask my Dr for more codeine & take for a few days if need be. I didn't expect to be able to get through, y'know when you're number 30 in the queue & the line goes dead when it's your turn. But I was shocked when the nice receptionist answered right away, Dr called me back within 10 mins, & my Codeine was delivered by the lovely pharmacy, & all within 1 hour!!!! Everyone was 5*, smiling, talking, laughing, introducing themselves to me, asking if I was OK, telling me what they were doing. It was so good that I'm thinking of going there for my next holiday. They took a biopsy, so hopefully everything has remained the same, & my kidneys are in good nick. There was even a great bunch of other ladies on the ward to chat to, absolutely perfect.
Hope everyone's as well as can be expected xxx
Fantastic news Blanket! It was worth the fight and proves the system can be marvellous with a bit of good management and respect for patients. Fingers crossed for your biopsy results. I'm waiting to hear my team's advice ref mine today. Possible raising of a glass later. xxx
Hi Blanket. Sounding very positive. Don't be trying to do too much too soon. Hoping all is well with your results and the UTIs evade you this time. Best wishes.
Sorry to hear you're under the weather. If you haven't already, worth collecting some pee and pouring into a clear glass container. Have a look, is it crystal clear, and sniff, if there's a UTI it can have a tell tale different aroma. If cloudy, or unpleasant aroma, def take to Drs ASAP. If not, does not necessarily mean you don't have a UTI though. Hope you feel better soon.
