Hello Wave I am only on cycle 2 of CISPLATIN and gemocitbin. And have such bad calf pain that haven’t been able to weight bare for 4 days. Excruciating pain from ankle to knee.

the oncologist says up your morphine !!! It doesn’t stop the pain in my leg.

now seriously considering stopping chemo as just feel so disabled already but then who knows where my body will go!

have primary bladder metastasis to lungs liver nodes so am   ‘Terminal’ anyhow and post radical cysectomy

if any of you lovely folks have had probs with legs be really good to chat about your experiences as feel confused.

go well and safe out thereHuggingHuggingHugging

  • Hello . Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with your treatment. I was fortunate not to have any problems with Gem/Cis, so not really able to offer advice. It does not sound as though your medics are helping. Do you have a CNS who could give any advice? Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Helliehullabalou, no experience with chemo (I'm on BCG)  but over past 3 years I have experienced very bad leg pain, particularly in the night. Absolute agony cramps which no amount of rubbing or moving can abate. My GP prescribed 10mg amytriptalin taken before bed which helps, and I have found keeping really well hydrated is a major contributing factor to a pain free night. May not apply to your problem but always worth a try. Sending very best wishes, I know how rotten leg pain is.xx

Yep thanks spoken to the oncology lot. It’s take more morph. Will get there. Take care x

  • Did your GP check if you are getting enough magnesium? You can get a pump spray to put on the skin which helps at bad moments but I have nearly got clear of night leg cramps by adding moderate amounts of magnesium tablets to my regular supplements. As always, check with your pharmacist and or medical team before taking anything new.
