I have had recurrence of carcinoma in situ after 20 years has anybody had BCG whilst being a cll patient on watch and wait.I had Course of BCG 20 years ago but my specialist prefers radical surgery.
Hello and welcome to the group. It must have been a shock having a recurrence after all this time. I have not had BCG, so not really able to help. Not sure if CLL will affect things at all, but hopefully someone with experience will be along to help. Best wishes.
Hi Iggy61, we always say BC can come back at any time but how shocking after 20 years. I don't understand what cll on watch and wait means? My G2 T1 tumour wasn't CIS. I have been having BCG for past 3 years as per the protocol. I have heard that in some cases people do have a second course of induction BCG. I'd consider asking for a second opinion before deciding on radical surgery. Sorry you've had this to deal with, very best wishes x
Always worth asking if it could be appropriate for your Cll [Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, is that correct?] to try treating it with Mitomycin rather than BCG. Same procedure [though sometimes via a heating device] and has worked well for my husband's common or garden bc. Should it still spread you could always go radical later if necessary.
Best wishes, Denby
