After the first installation it looks as though I am one of the 'lucky' <5% who gets constipation. Anybody else had this?
I already take Fybogel and Lactulose because of a chronic anal fissure in an attempt to prevent constipation and the fissure splitting, so it looks as though I may need to take additional Fybogel to try and get things stable again.
My diet hadn't changed after the first installation. If anything my fluid intake has increased which should have helped. I've been managing my fissure for 15 years so know what I'm doing in that respect.
This is the only side effect to come from the first one so I suppose I am lucky. We'll see what the 2nd on Monday brings.
There is some hope on the horizon though. Apremilast, my replacement psoriasis treatment, arrives on Wednesday and one of the side effects from that is that 77% of people get diarrhoea for the first 2 weeks so they should cancel each other out
Hi Mugwump. I never had the pleasure of BCG so can't really offer any advice. My bowels were the opposite when I was having my particular treatment. Good to know you are trying to stay well hydrated. Make sure you tell the nurses when you go for your next session. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Had my second this morning. I now know what
feels like.
I managed the 2 hours without a problem. It's obviously doing something as I have an 'uncomfortableness' (is there such a word?) in my bladder. It's not painful, just feels uncomfortable.
I managed OK first off but then the frequency started picking up. At one point I hadn't even flushed after the 15 mins of bleach before I had to go again.
30 mins is the best I've done so far before the urge got too great. I foresee a rather disturbed (more than it normally is) sleep tonight.
Wee frequency improved today. Back to about an hour. Get a bit of an achy pain as my bladder empties, reminiscent of the pain 2 days after a TURBT, but nothing major.
It was quite funny yesterday as I'm WFH. I was praying that each user I dealt with was a simple problem and it didn't take too long.
Still taking Dulcolax to counter the constipation. CNS said she'd never heard of that side effect before.
